The mission of LMZ Shipping S.A. and its Management is to ensure that Health & Safety, Security and Environmental protection considerations remain top priority for the Company’s management and employees. Prevention of accidental risks and losses due to process failure are recognized as an integral part of our continuous improvement culture.

LMZ Shipping S.A. will strive for a long-term ZERO TOLERANCE culture aiming to have:

  • no loss of process capability

LMZ Shipping S.A. and its Management are fully committed to ensuring the health and safety of all crew members and staff on board its vessels and in its offices, contracted personnel and any other persons who are directly or indirectly linked with its business and operations. The Company, considering the nature of the job and in the interest of Health & Safety onboard, and in order to protect shipboard personnel, has opted that no person below the age of 18 shall be engaged or work on a ship managed by the Company.

LMZ Shipping S.A, is committed to conducting its business with integrity and in accordance with all international, national and local laws to which its business activities are subject.

LMZ Shipping S.A will ensure that the concept of safe operations is conveyed and understood by all employees and that safe working practices are fully implemented on board all its ships.

LMZ Shipping S.A aims to achieve the following objectives, through implementation of our Health and Safety Protection Policy:

  • Safety at sea
  • Injury and human loss prevention
  • Prevention of damage to property (vessel and cargo)

Relevant procedures and operational instructions are included in the Safety management system (SMS) that LMZ Shipping S.A, implements, maintains and monitors.

 

LMZ Shipping S.A., its Directors and Management are fully committed to a ZERO TOLERANCE policy ensuring that the waters on which its ships operate are protected from pollution and continuously strive to identify and correct any conditions perceived to be unsafe and hazardous to the environment.

Pollution of the environment by a ship can be caused in a number of ways both as a result of system failure and of human error. LMZ Shipping S.A. is committed to preventing both sources of error through a planned maintenance program and a program of education and training of staff, and through implementation of a set of procedures in accordance with its Safety management system.

The objective of the Company is to prevent pollution of the environment from the following sources related to the aspects of its operations:

  • Oil
  • Noxious Liquid Substances
  • Sewage
  • Garbage
  • Dangerous Goods
  • Ballast Water
  • Cargo Vapour and Engine Emissions
  • Halons and CFCs
  • Noise
  • Anti-Fouling Paints.

LMZ Shipping S.A. shall achieve this objective by maintaining, implementing, and monitoring relevant SMS procedures and operational instructions.

The Company has ensured that:

  • The Environmental Prevention Policy is available to the public and being posted.
  • It is documented with a commitment to implement, maintain and communicate it to all employees.
  • The Policy is available to and understood by all employees, and any persons working on company’s behalf, in the office and on board the vessels.
  • The need for the organization to clearly define the scope of the Environmental Protection Policy is recognized.

 

 

The Company guarantees its commitment on matters of security and declares that all works conducted by its personnel, either ashore or onboard, will be effectively supervised in order to comply with the provisions of the ISPS Code. It is the policy of the Company to provide a secure working environment by establishing and maintaining the required security measures to prevent unlawful acts which endanger the safety and security of persons and property onboard the ship. Company objectives are to:

  • Provide security procedures and practices for ship operations to protect the security of ports and the wider community and establish safeguards to reduce the risk to crew, passengers and port personnel onboard.
  • Improve the security skills and awareness of Company personnel ashore and onboard

In case there is a conflict between commercial interests and the aims of the Security Policy, the Master will give priority to this Policy and the above mentioned objectives which will be achieved by:

  • Comprehensive training for Company and ship personnel. The personnel undergo training both immediately upon hiring and continuously during their employment.
  • Actively promoting security awareness amongst Company and ship personnel.
  • Taking into account the decisions of the international shipping community.
  • Regular documented reviews and internal audits of security procedures and plans in order to allow for constant update and improvement of the Plan.
  • Scheduling in advance, as far as possible, the voyage, the cargo handling and all ship’s operations in order to foresee possible dangers and take the necessary precautions.
All employees and crewmembers are expected to comply with the requirements of the SSP and shall be familiar with their relevant security duties and the measures required to protect the ship from any unlawful act

In the event of an attack on the ship or highjack attempt, the preservation
of the lives of ship personnel is to be placed above all other
considerations.

The Company declares that the CSO, the Master and the SSO have adequate knowledge and/or have received training, that shipboard personnel with specific security duties have sufficient knowledge and ability to perform their assigned duties and that all other shipboard personnel have sufficient knowledge of and are familiar with relevant provisions of the SSP. The Company ensures that the CSO and SSO are given the necessary support to fulfill their duties and responsibilities in accordance with SOLAS and the ISPS Code.

This Policy will be revised whenever necessary in order to ensure that the aims set are achieved and to monitor the correctness and effectiveness of the procedures and guidelines given.

 

The Company management is committed to a safe, healthy and productive working environment for all employees, both shore-based and aboard managed vessels.It is the policy of the Company and the owners of the vessels the company manages, that

no seafarer, whatever rank,
will navigate the vessel or operate any equipment,
while impaired by drugs or alcohol, or
where there is any risk of such impairment

In following this policy, the Company:

1. Prohibits the use by crewmembers of all substances, which are defined as narcotic and are illegal.

2. Has implemented random testing of all Crew, Officers and Ratings, for alcohol abuse before or during the performance of their duties and for use of drugs.

3. Controls the issue and use of all medical supplies and prescribed medicines on board the vessels they manage.

4. Will dismiss instantly anybody:

  • Using alcohol or banned substances on board the vessel, at all times;
  • Caught in possession of alcohol or banned substances;
  • Found to have been instrumental in bringing alcohol or banned substances on board the vessel;
  • Found to have a positive trace in any random testing sample, unless prior notice and authorization for use has been provided;

5. Requires all seagoing staff and new recruits to sign a Declaration of Acceptance of the Company's Drugs and Alcohol Policy.

Identity

When this policy mentions “we”, “us”, or “our”, “data controller”, it refers to “LMZ Shipping S.A.”, a company with its headquarters in Liberia and its branches  within EE (hereinafter also referred to as “Company”), which is the owner, operator and administrator of www.lmz.gr

Data Controller

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) (EU) 2016/679, we are the Data Controller. There is a strict contractual framework between the data controller and the data processor for the protection of your personal information and our processors are not permitted to process your data in any other way or for any other purpose.

Personal data we collect and process

When you fill in our Contact Form we process your name, e-mail, telephone number and the subject of your message, for the purpose of our communication.

When you fill in our Career Form we collect and process your name, your e-mail, your Curriculum Vitae (CV) and your cover letter.

Purpose and Legal basis for the processing of your Personal Data

We process your personal data in order to manage your contact requests with us or in order to evaluate your curriculum vitae for career opportunities. Your personal data will be processed for the purpose of your communication with us and the processing of your data is based on your own consent, which you provide by accepting this Privacy Policy.

Obligatory nature of providing the data

When you contact us via the Contact Form of the Website we process any data provided by you, e.g. your email address and your message. If you do not to provide us with these data, you will not be able to send the Contact Form to us. Τhe same applies when you contact us via the Career Form.

Data Processors - Recipients

Your data may be provided to our partner companies, third party companies and suppliers who provide us with certain services (“data processors” or “processors“), such as IT companies, host providers etc. We disclose only the necessary information each time, and we ensure you that we have explicitly asked for the maximum safeness and confidentiality for your data from our partners and third parties and that our data processors may only collect and process your personal data in accordance with our instructions. Further transfer from them to others is strictly prohibited.

Use of Services by Minors

The Services are not directed to individuals under the age of eighteen (18) and we request that they not provide Personal Data through the Services. In case we find out that a User is a minor, we reserve the right to delete all related Personal Data and not to provide our Services to such User.

 

 

Data Retention

We will retain your Personal Data for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law or if you request their withdrawal from us, oppose or revoke your consent. If you are not recruited by the Company, we will retain your curriculum vitae for a 5 years period, unless you withdraw your consent earlier.

Withdrawal of consent

When you communicate with us via the contact forms of www.lmz.gr, the fulfillment of the requested communication cannot be undertaken without your consent to the present Privacy Policy. To revoke such consent, you may contact us at info@lmz.gr. In the event that you withdraw your consent, this will not affect the legality of the processing carried out previously.

We do not transfer your Personal Data to any country outside the European Union.
